WHAT REMAINS, WHAT DISAPPEARS
Tracing the visible, sensing the absent

Eight Colombian artists who question how we perceive memory, time, and image

Bringing together eight Colombian artists, What Remains, What Disappears is Beatriz Esguerra Art’s presentation for the Dallas Art Fair 2026, exploring memory, time, and image through works that navigate presence and absence.

At its core, photographers Mario Arroyave, Jairo Llano, and Max Steven Grossman examine how moments are constructed, fragmented, and preserved—through spiritual landscapes, ephemeral paper structures captured at the brink of disappearance, and imagined libraries that reflect on knowledge and identity. Expanding this dialogue, Pablo Arrázola’s drawings of children as superheroes evoke imagination and transformation, Camila Echavarría’s paintings merge natural forms with coded systems to question perception and order, and Pedro Ruiz addresses landscape as a space shaped by social and political forces. Together with works by Teresa Currea and Angelica Chavarro, the presentation creates a contemplative and engaging experience that invites viewers to slow down, take their time, and savor the works, reflecting on what endures and what quietly fades.
