RONCHINI GALLERY aims to discover and rediscover exceptional artists through presenting curated exhibitions from the gallery’s stable of international artists and beyond. Founded by Lorenzo Ronchini in 1992, the gallery evolved from years of private collecting. Since opening its doors it has been home to exhibitions exploring pioneering movements across a broad spectrum of contemporary artistic practice – including Minimalism, Spatialism, Conceptualism and Arte Povera – that continue to inform the gallery’s aesthetic today.
Its relocation from Italy to the UK in 2012, has allowed Ronchini to work with established and emerging artists that are predominately new to London audiences.
At its Mayfair space, Ronchini has presented the first UK solo exhibitions of artists including: Franco Angeli, Samantha Bittman, Elvire Bonduelle, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Gianpietro Carlesso, Will Cotton, Jacob Hashimoto, Richard Höglund, Sean Lynch, Conrad Marca-Relli, Tameka Norris, Adeline de Monseignat, Berndnaut Smilde, Paolo Scheggi, Rebecca Ward and Jens Wolf.
The gallery presents exhibitions focused on particular aspects of an artist’s practice, thematic group shows and new commissions. It collaborates with museums, foundations, curators and scholars from around the world to develop greater understanding and broader interest in the work of its artists; this includes exhibition catalogues and commissioned essays. The gallery offers a focused environment in which its artists can be viewed in a rigorous context.
