Josh Lilley opened in Fitzrovia in May 2009. In 2020, after 90 exhibitions, the gallery expanded into adjoining premises to double the exhibition space, viewing rooms and street facade. Continuing a lineage of significant introductory presentations that includes Derek Fordjour, Analia Saban, Kathleen Ryan, Celeste Rapone and Alex Da Corte, 2023-24 programming includes the London solo gallery debuts for Sula Bermúdez-Silverman, Timothy Lai and Autumn Wallace. Recent and upcoming gallery highlights include a major career survey for Kathleen Ryan at Hamburg Kunsthalle, the unveiling of Rebecca Manson’s first solo museum presentation at The Modern Fort Worth, Sula Bermúdez-Silverman’s feature in the Hammer Museum’s Made in LA biennialas well as further inclusions in important group shows at Yale University Art Gallery and The Jewish Museum, New York; Gareth Cadwallader's participation in both the Hayward and Whitechapel Gallery's London painting survey shows; Martine Gutierrez's solo presentation at CAM St Louis and Whitney Museum billboard; Rachel Maclean’s solo shows at Kunstpalais Erlangen and Kunsthalle Giessen; a scholarly exhibition of never-before-seen work from the 1970s by Patrick Caulfield; and major museum acquisitions for LACMA (Derek Fordjour), the Hammer Museum (Kathleen Ryan, Celeste Rapone, Sula Bermúdez-Silverman), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Nick Goss), the Dallas Museum of Art (Spencer Lewis), the Sandretto Foundation, Turin (Celeste Rapone), Mwoods, Beijing (Tom Anholt), the Victoria & Albert Museum, (Nick Goss) and The Hunterian, Glasgow (Rachel Maclean).
