Hollis TaggartNew York, Southport

Hollis Taggart, formerly known as Hollis Taggart Galleries, was founded in 1979, with a mission to present museum-quality works of art, maintain a program motivated by scholarship, and offer personalized support in all aspects of art collecting. For nearly 40 years, the gallery has offered significant works of American art–showcasing the trajectory of movements from the Hudson River School to American Modernism and Post-War and Contemporary eras–and curated numerous critically acclaimed shows in collaboration with the foremost leaders in the field. Hollis Taggart has also worked with more than thirty museums and institutions to produce scholarly catalogues and has sponsored the catalogue raisonné projects of artists Kay Sage, Daniel Garber, and Michael (Corinne) West. As the gallery has expanded its contemporary division, they have also returned to their roots in the historical division, newly representing the estates of abstract expressionist Michael (Corinne) West, pioneering Gulf Coast artist Dusti Bongé, and Color Field painter Sheila Isham. Hollis Taggart’s long-time mission of bringing forgotten but deserving artists to light continues in 2022, with upcoming exhibitions showcasing the works of Norman Carton, Albert Kotin, and Irene Monat Stern, among others.
