Josh Lilley opened in Fitzrovia in May 2009. In 2020, after 90 exhibitions, the gallery expanded into adjoining premises to double the exhibition space, viewing rooms and street facade. Continuing a lineage of significant introductory presentations that includes Derek Fordjour, Analia Saban, Celeste Rapone, Aliza Nisenbaum, Brian Bress and Alex Da Corte. 2022-23 programming includes the London solo gallery debuts for Iman Raad, Rachel Maclean, Spencer Lewis and Catharine Czudej. Recent and upcoming gallery highlights include Gareth Cadwallader's participation in both the Hayward and Whitechapel Gallery's London painting survey shows; Martine Gutierrez's solo presentation at CAM St Louis; the unveiling of Rebecca Manson's monumental, open air commission at The Donum Estate, California; screenings of Rachel Maclean's celebrated work 'upside mimi ???? u?op ' at the London and Tempere Film Festivals; Celeste Rapone in the much anticipated ICA Boston 2022 figuration survey show; a scholarly exhibition of never-before-seen work from the 1970s by Patrick Caulfield; and major museum acquisitions for LACMA (Derek Fordjour), the Hammer Museum (Kathleen Ryan), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Nick Goss), the Start Museum, Shanghai (Celeste Rapone) and The Hunterian, Glasgow (Rachel Maclean).
