The Preview Gala, benefitting the Nasher Sculpture Center and Dallas Contemporary, will offer art patrons and Dallas’ top collectors the opportunity to preview and purchase exhibited works prior to the public opening of the fair. Dallas Contemporary is a non-collecting art museum presenting new and fresh ideas from regional, national and international artists. Modeled after European art centers and located in an industrial building in the Design District, Dallas Contemporary is one of the only institutions of its kind in the United States, offering temporary exhibitions, important lectures and seminal learning programs.

The much anticipated Sightings: Erick Swenson exhibition at the Nasher features new work by Dallas-based artist. Swenson has received national and international acclaim for his beguiling sculptures. Rendered with a naturalist’s sensitivity and incredible precision, the works often present fantastic detailed vignettes of animals ensnared in strange, sometimes devastating circumstances, or quietly poetic scenes that evoke the beauty and tragedy of nature, as well as our own human condition. The Goss-Michael Foundation Exhibition Opening – Adam McEwen

The New-York based, European artist Adam McEwen will continue to blur the lines between history and fiction with his upcoming exhibition at The Goss-Michael Foundation. The exhibition will showcase a variety of media including painting, sculpture and installations as well as some of McEwen’s better-known works and pieces previously acquired by the Foundation.McEwen’s monochromatic paintings and trademark machined graphite sculptures turn everyday objects such as an unfurled yoga mat and dirty chewing gum at odds with their triteness, aiming to temporarily shake viewers from their passive acceptance of the mass media and reality. Dallas Contemporary Exhibition Opening – Erwin Wurm, Zoe Crosher and the Dallas Biennale

The Rachofsky House is the private home and contemporary art collection of Cindy and Howard Rachofsky. The Rachofsky Collection consists of post-WWII artwork by international artists. The collection focuses on a number of movements and themes, among them Italian Art, Arte Povera, Minimalism, Mono-Ha, artwork from the 1960s that explores the nature of sculpture and painting and more contemporary work that explores notions of identity and the self.
